Rawan Bazbazat is a Palestinian jewelry designer based in Jerusalem. She graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Jewelry Design from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, and also holds a master’s degree in Regional Studies from Al-Quds University and a diploma in Art Education from the Hebrew University. Rawan is the co-founder of That Jewelry Studio (استوديو ذات), a space for jewelry design, research, and community engagement.
Her work explores the symbolic and protective dimensions of traditional Palestinian amulets, particularly those connected to plants and folk rituals. In 2023, she developed the project Water Amulets (تمائم الماء) in collaboration with the Ramallah Municipality, focusing on designing amulets as acts of resistance and protection for natural water springs in Palestine, threatened by urbanization and land confiscation.
Rawan is currently conducting research on the use of plants in Palestinian and global folklore, particularly how they have been associated with blessing, healing, and protection against evil. This research informs her ongoing artistic practice and jewelry design.
