Ljuba Šlechtová comes from Prague, where she studies at AAAD in Prague (BA). She has completed internships in the studio of guest lecturer Setareh Shahbazi and at the Painting 1 Studio at FaVU in Brno.
Šlechtová's work explores the medium of painting and object. She focuses primarily on the perception of time — how it is constantly monitored, traded and compressed in our society — as well as on what it means to identify as a woman in a world that is turning away from universal natural cycles that transcend human experience, in favor of a homogenized and punctual concept of time.
