Petra Matić is an artist, curator, and activist focused on cultural transformation, social justice, and anti-colonial practices. She recently developed The Non-Aligned Archive, a digital archive preserving the histories of African, Asian, and American diasporas in Croatia. Petra has worked with the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb on L‘Internationale‘s Museum of the Commons project and exhibited at documenta fifteen, Fotograf Festival Prague, and the Ljubljana Design Biennial.
Petra is the founder of the Jutro NGO and an advocate for integrating contemporary art with human rights. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Interdisciplinary Artists (HUIU), fellow of Goethe Institut’s Global Cultural Relations, and participated in residencies like the Delfina Foundation, Gudskul, HKW, and IMMA. Petra has curated projects for major Croatian institutions and contributed to spaces like La Linière refugee camp in France.
At aqb, she is researching the traces of Indonesian presence in East Europe during the Cold War, as part of her research on Indonesian-Yugoslav non-aligned histories.
