Erik Vilím (*1990) is an aesthetician, curator, critic and cultural worker. Between 2017 and 2019 he completed his PhD studies at the Institute of Literary and Artistic Communication at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. His final thesis has been titled Meditativeness of Expression in Visual Art. Already during his studies he started to prepare many solo and group exhibitions and at the same time he worked as an assistant at Zahorian & Van Espen gallery. He regularly publishes in journals and online platforms. He is a member of the Slovak section of AICA and had several residencies ([Banskej St a nice, Fotograf Gallery, State Silk Museum). Between 2019 and 2022, he worked as an editorial project manager at Kunsthalle Bratislava. Between 2022 and 2023, he worked as a project manager at the Institute of Cultural Policy of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, where he was also a member of the main team of the Strategy for Culture and Creative Industry of the Slovak Republic 2030. He lives and works in Bratislava. He is currently a freelancer.
