"ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO LEAVE?"
Selection from the OSTRALE Biennale.

The exhibition is one of the largest international projects in the history of aqb: featuring works by a selection of artists making their debut in Hungary, telling local and regional, personal and general stories of loud or silent conflicts, animals and people, power and values - often with ironic lessons. In many voices and with great emphasis, it shows the poeticism and ordinariness of artistic activity, the heroisation of work, and the satirical mockery of this heroism, whether it is a feature of the semi-historical or of contemporary manager-capitalism.

Imre Vass: in_form dance performance
Venue: building A, 4th floor (room A26)

in_form is a movement-based performance that uses amplified breathing sounds and stays on the very edge of visibility. It asks you to listen. How informative a simple breath can be?

The figure of the performance stays in the constant flux of becoming. He senses and picks up various modalities of beings and states from inner and outer spaces. Transformation happens on it’s own accordance as it is being consciously manipulated as well. On the edge of visibility, he examines the contours of understanding, he stays in potentiality. Yet, he is only a shadow of himself.

in_form is the 1st episode of the performance series PERSONAL TRAINER. The series aims to explore the notion of progress on the personal level. It invites the audience to map their reasons and tendencies of becoming different, more or advanced. What are the desires and motivations to be better, to be fitter, to grow, to evolve?

Uninterrupted contemplation, inaudible closure, ethereal mood, stirring emotions: rumination - or the expression and mapping of emergence from this, in a cinematic, atmospheric music environment - at times through repetitive themes and 'rounded', unidentifiable sounds. This is the ruminative flooding.
