Simon Reitmann was born in 1999 in Rottenmann, Styria, Austria, and grew up in Upper Austria. After completing his apprenticeship in sculpture at Ortweinschule Graz in 2021, he is now studying sculpture and transmedial space in the class of Tobias Urban and Ali Janka (Gelitin) at the University of Art and Design Linz and Transarts – Transdisziplinäre Kunst at University of Applied arts Vienna.

In 2021, he received one of four Ortwein scholarships from the province of Styria, where he subsequently exhibited at the Museum of History in Graz in October 2021. His works can also be found in the art collection of Upper Austria and in the collection of the Styrian Regional Government - Neue Galerie Graz, among others.

Clear lines and forms strongly characterize his work, as well as the desire to depict them in motion. Reitmann engages with various materials in his work, including metal, wood, plaster, and styrofoam. Each material brings its own characteristics, which he knows how to utilize in his works. He draws inspiration from everyday life, where he mentally picks up, disassembles, and reassembles everything. Graphic elements are also recurring features in his works.
