“One cannot step into the same river twice,“ said Heraclitus, inviting us to reflect on identity and continuity. By interpreting the river not as a geographical feature but as a metaphor for life, we discover the essence of all existence: continuous change and renewal. Water flows incessantly, changes direction, and its course is shaped by dams and waterfalls. The river‘s movement is never monotonous, just as humans change over time, each moment reshaping us. There are no repetitive moments, and we cannot anchor ourselves in the past; all living movement happens here and now, in the continuous flow of time.
YOUR WATER, OUR WATER showcases artistic creations from ten different countries, examining the historical and ecological aspects of the Danube and other waters. They interpret
water as a metaphor for transformation and renewal.
