Füli creates peculiar creatures, sometimes resembling animals, at other times nearing the world of dreams and childhood imagination. Nowadays, the experience of childhood innocence often carries pejorative connotations, especially when it pertains to an adult's work. Yet, its purity is a virtue that cannot be achieved through mere discipline or force. Openness, curiosity, and the pursuit of discovery altogether are capable of genuine wonders - immediately evoked in the human soul when viewing Füli's images. Nostalgia sets in; you remember Süsü again, and the open-minded, exploratory, and imaginative world of childhood reawakens. The wonderful culmination of this viewpoint is playfulness itself. The fact that a painting exists within the borders of the canvas does not necessarily confine it there. If the feeling so urges, any detail can be cut away and placed into a new frame or simply continued to be drawn by the imagination.
At the same time, Füli’s colorful and lighthearted world is complemented by a series of pastels built from darkness, called the Ica images. The longstanding relationship from childhood connects Füli to Ica, whose magic sublimates into the creative process as a shadow creature, embodying the dark side of the soul, which she bears like a comrade. No wonder - since a playmate is both friend and enemy at the same time - but at the end of the game, only one side of it can triumph as the "winner."
Fülöp Vídákovich (1996), a national BMX champion, and works as a master carpenter. Painting and creating have always been part of his life; however, he never subordinated them to the classical institutionalized academic system.
