Have A Seat is a collection of unconventional seating objects occupied by people in outdoor environments.
The project emerged from a reflexive act of photographing, triggered by chance encounters with chairs, sofas, and other objects placed outdoors, which are usually associated with domestic interiors. As the number of images increased, curiosity about people’s seating choices emerged, opening questions not only about the diversity of seating objects but also about the factors that shape them.
Throughout the making process, the concepts of personal space and lived space, and how they expand, intersect, or overlap, became central to the project’s trajectory. The resulting work traces these questions through encounters and conversations with the people who occupy these seats, allowing their voices to inform the work.
Through these seating objects, personal space quietly reasserts itself within shared environments, and each seat transforms into a lived space.
