In her artistic practice Olga Holzschuh explores questions of instability, trace and index, as well as identity and bodily presence. Photography, sculpture, and (reading) performance are closely interwoven in her work. The transitory forms the central core of her practice. It manifests itself both in her performances and in her engagement with materials that are subject to transformation, such as soap, photographic solutions, and metal.
Her work has been presented nationally and internationally, including at Japanese-German-Center Berlin (DE), Villa Kamogawa of the Goethe-Institut in Kyoto (JP), Leopold-Hoesch-Museum (DE), Kunsthalle Münster (DE), Ballon Rouge Gallery in Brussels (BE), Temporary Gallery in Cologne (DE), EIGEN+ART Lab Berlin (DE), Koenig2 – Christine König Galerie in Vienna (AT), KRAKERS – Gallery Week in Kraków (PL), Kasseler Kunstverein (DE), as well as in the film program of the Museum of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou (CN).
