Masha Wysocka is a Belgian-Spanish artist who considers her practice a vocation. She focuses on stories from the peripheries, bringing history and science to the forefront of her projects. Consequently, archives are important to her and have shaped her creative process.
She holds a Master's degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication, which is part of the University of the Arts London. Additionally, she graduated from Sciences Po Strasbourg and earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Strasbourg.
She has received several awards, including the Mead Fellowship from the University of the Arts London and the PhMuseum Photography Grant-Residency at Landskrona Foto. She has also participated in artist-in-residence programmes in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, and Ukraine.
She has exhibited her work in Belgium, France, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and the UK. Her project 'Truth is Stranger than Fiction' was featured at Scan Tarragona 2022, Circulation(s) 2024, Les Boutographies 2025, and was published in Camera Austria, Eidolon Journal, and Photoworks. This year, it has been shown at the Viewing Room at Art Photo Bcn (Barcelona) and in a group show 'Restart' organised by the Lithuanian Photographers Association at Prospekto Gallery (Vilnius).
