art quarter budapest is scouting interns to join its team in 2025 for a part-time internship

Who are we?<\/strong>

aqb is an independent art centre in Budapest, Hungary. It was initiated in 2012 and it functions as an exhibition place for contemporary art, a studio house and an artist-in-residence program in an unique renovated factory building, the former Haggenmacher brewery.

Numerous Hungarian visual artists and creative enterprises found their constant base in the building complex. aqb runs an international residency program, provides space for an experimental sound studio and organizes exhibitions in its non-profit Gallery called Project Space. aqb became a cultural melting pot of an international creative community with a wide variety of artists from music, applied arts, dance and visual art scene. Focusing on our audience development we are organising art events and cultural programs for the local community and also creating international networks at the same time.

Responsibilities<\/strong>
The internship includes weekly 20-25 hours of assisting ongoing processes of various tasks.

As intern at aqb, you will:<\/strong>
Help us basic operational management
Organize local art related programs
Artist-in-residence host
Set up the installations
Take care of external communication and social media
Take care of the gallery\u2019s open hours
Carry out creative tasks depending on your personal skills

Join a supportive and engaging workplace on the outskirts of Budapest
Receive free accommodation in the house of art quarter budapest. Our private room would be on the fully equipped community floor, sharing it with the current artists in residence, allowing you to get a deeper and first-hand insight into the dynamics of the whole contemporary art complex
As the internship is unpaid, we are ready to support you for the application to European and non-European scholarships (as Erasmus+ internship) with documents and through all the necessary steps

Profile<\/strong>
You are a student full of initiative, self-driven, curious, creative, flexible, and result-oriented. The skills and experience to do this job successfully include:
High level of English
Skills in daily computer use, Google applications and other visual editing software
Skills in installation set-ups and practical problem-solving
Organisational, analytical, writing and communication skills
Having interest in cultural and art related project management
