Kristina Marić's artistic preoccupation is the relationship between the individual and collective in our social structure. In various mediums, she often experiments with elements of corporeality, frequently referring to the different paradoxes and discrepancies in our social context. Her works range from the subtle approach of delicate life issues to the playful moments of absurdity. Primarily focused on the initial attitude which an observer takes during his first encounter with the artwork, she is questioning how sensitive we are to a provocation and how much repetition of such state, crashes or reinforces our barriers. Dealing with the defective human perception and nature, her works problematize our relationship with the social context, with the individuals and the artist as well.
